The method to reset the ADT alarm code varies according to the system's brand.
Most of the security systems installed by ADT are branded Honeywell Vista-20P model WA3000 or WA3001, so I will explain how to reset this alarm system without using a code.
In this article, I explain how to reset the MASTER alarm code by using a method to turn the alarm panel off/on and set the installer code that you can use to set a new master code.
How to identify the ADT system
You can identify this type of ADT security system by looking at the metal alarm panel where you can find a circuit board with a chip with a sticker that is written WA3000 or WA30001 on it.
Set the installer code
To disarm the system and change the master code, first, you need to set an installer security code.
Follow the steps below to create the installer code.
The next step is to use the installer code to set the master code.
How to set the master code
Use the alarm keypad to set the master code on your ADT system.
Follow these steps.
And it's done. Now you have your master code working on your security system.
Don't forget to test it to make sure you can arm the system.
Test your alarm system
Now you have the master code for your security system and can use the keypad to arm/disarm the alarm.
Make sure the doors and windows are closed and test the master code and user codes as well.
With the master code, you can also create user codes.
