You can connect your Swann cameras to your Google Assistant in less than 5 minutes. Once this is done, you can use voice command to display the video stream on your TV or other Google device that has a display
Let's see how it works...
To use the Google Assistant with Swann you need to meet these requirements.
- Have a Swann security camera
- Have a Google Account
- A device such as Google Home or Google Mini
- Use a Google Chromecast (to display on the TV)
- Use a Google Home Hub
The concept is very simple, you need to have your cameras working with the Swann app and the link the accounts (Google + Swann) and once this is done you can ask Google to display the video stream on the device you want.
Add the Swann camera to the Google Home
Use your mobile phone to add the cameras following these steps.
- Open the Google Home app
- Click the (+) icon
- Click "Set up device"
- Click "Have something already set up?"
- Click "Safe by Swann"
- Login to the Swann account
- Choose the location for the cameras
- Click done
Everything should be working now. See the pictures for details.
Click the "+" sign
Select "Se up device"
Choose the option as shown below...
Click to add the service...
Log in to the account...
Choose the device to add.
And that's it. Now you have both accounts linked and you can use your Google Assistant to give voice commands to your show the Swann cameras.
Command the cameras using your voice
Now that you know to connect Swann cameras to Google Assistante, it's time to test if everything is working, right?
Just click the Google Home assistant on your mobile or use a Google device and to give a command like "Hey Google, show front door on TV 2".
Assuming you have the Chromecast connected to your TV and it's named as TV2, the video from your Swann cam is displayed on the TV.
If you want to use another name for the camera, just rename them on the Google Home app and you are done, it's pretty easy and simple.

It's very simple to show your Swann cameras on TV, it's a question of having a Chromecast device and the correct configuration on the Home assistant.
