Hikvision No Resource Error (solved)

The message "No resource" is displayed in the Hikvision DVR or NVR to indicate a configuration problem. In this article, I explain how to fix this issue.

Hikvision no resource error

The picture above shows all the channels with the same problems, but sometimes you can have some of the cameras working and others that show the "No Resource' message. The problem is related to the camera configuration.

What causes the No Resource Message?

Most of the time, the problem is related to the resolution.

If the Hikvision NVR supports 2MP cameras and you are trying to use a higher resolution camera with 4MP, for example, you will face this problem.

No worries; even if you have a higher resolution camera, you can adjust the configuration to make it work with the Hikvision NVR.

Here's the step-by-step to fix the Hikvision No Resource Error.

There are other parameters in this menu, such as Frame Rate, Max Bit Rate, Video Encoding, and Bit Rate Type. You can change these parameters as well.

It's recommended to change such parameters only if the resolution did not fix the problem; you can try changing one at a time to see if the error gets fixed.
