Yeah, I've been there. I have a Hikvision DS-7604NI-E1/4P NVR and know that the constant beeping is very annoying; it can drive you crazy, right ? 🙂

In this article, I show you how to disable the beeping, but it's also important to understand what is causing them; otherwise, you just save your sanity but still have a recorder with some problem.

How to disable the beeping on a Hikvision recorder

Here are the steps to disable the beeping on the NVR/DVR:

Using the mouse, right-click on the screen;
Click on "Menu";
Click on "Exceptions";
Unselect the "Audible Warning"
Click "Apply" to save the configuration.

And that's it.

Now your NVR/DVR won't beep anymore.

Why the NVR/DVR beeps

Your NVR/DVR usually beeps when something is not good.

It's just an alarm to let you know that you have to fix the problem.

When you power the recorder for the first time, it looks for the hard drive, and if it's not initialized, the device bothers you with the irritating sound 🙂
