Uniview NVR factory reset

In this article, I show how to reset the Uniview NVR to factory default.

If you lost the admin password, just follow the instructions to generate a master password that allows you to recover access to your NVR.

You can use the same procedure to reset other OEM devices that use the same hardware. Here is a list of such devices:

2M Technology, Cantronic, CCTV Security Pros, CNB, CP Plus, Dax Networks, Dorani, Eclipse, Envirocams, Fermax Australia, Galaxy, Geovision, Gess, Global, Grupo PV (Voxel), Invid Tech, LTS, Norden, Openeye, Oviss, People Fu, Q-See Presidio line, Raster, Revo, Security Camera Warehouse, Uniview Tec.

Try using the Uniview Default Password

Before resetting the NVR, try using the default username and password.

Username: admin

Password: 123456

Perhaps you can get lucky, but you can use the following method if that doesn't work.

How to reset the Uniview NVR

The idea is to use a master password to login into the NVR and create a new one. You need to get a code via email to get started with this procedure.

Here are the steps to reset the NVR:

  • Login in to your EZcloud account
  • Enter the NVR current date
  • Click the "Acquire button"
  • Check your email inbox
  • Look for the verification code
  • Enter the verification code into the Ezcloud website
  • Click "Retrieve" to get a temporary password
  • Use this temporary password to login to the NVR
  • See the following pictures for more details.

Go to https://en.ezcloud.uniview.com/ log to your account, find your NVR under “My Cloud Devices” and Click “Retrieve”.

    EZCloud Retrieve Uniview Password

Make sure your email address is correct, insert the NVR date and click the "Acquire button". You should receive an email with the verification code.

    EZCloud Acquire Verification Code

Once you have the verification code, just type (or paste) in the box and click "retrieve" to get the temporary password for the NVR.

Use the temporary password to log in to the NVR and change the password.

    Uniview NVR Enter Security Code

Be aware that this password is valid only for the date it was created.

And that's all. Now you have access to your NVR. Enjoy 🙂
