How to calculate lenght of gasket ?

I have to calculate the width of the board that is placed between the cylinder block and an assembly for a cover of the CCTV camera. the diameter of the cylinder is 88.90 mm y. The width of the block assembly is 40 mm I know there is a very easy answer to this but you can get around it thanks I feel that the length required must be equal to the length of mounting block
