How can i make my laptop a DVR for CCTV Purposes? (video Survellence)?

¿Ive got the camera and receiver for the camera, but what else would need to hook the receiver to the laptop? Do not have any slots AVI? Is there an AVI Converter to USB?

you need a USB capture device that will convert your video output from the reciever to USB, in most cases the USB device would be supplied with software that can record but to turn it into a surveillance application you could use this IP surveillance / USB webcam CCTV recording software that also lets you watch the cameras from any PC anywhere in the world.
