Some cameras are placed near dangerous intersections, on light poles near banks, in elevators, and in roaming trucks (such trucks have 360 degree cameras to photograph the neighborhoods. These are used for zoning issues, to assist in computing crime statistics, and to prevent accidents.) Aerial photographs, google earth, ARC-VIEW GIS, and some military stuff has been used to assist in making life better for all, e.g., to watch and help prevent the destruction of the rain forest, to watch and predict the change in global warming trends, to assist with global population redistribution, to provide information on the utilization of agricultural land, etc. However, unless you have a goofy landlord or are the subject of a stalker or US Attorney, then, the chances of you being watched in your home is almost zero. That's where they got the idea for "Big Brother", because "Big Brother is always watching". You're watching T.V., but the T.V. is also watching you. It's a cool book. I believe satellites can zoom in and see you if you're outside, but not sideways and into your house. I used to live on the top floor of a little apartment, and I could clearly see, and zoom into, my balcony on Google Earth. It was pretty creepy. Have you ever read a book called “1984″?
